TheHydro-Québec Building(French:Édifice Hydro-Québec) inMontreal,Quebec,Canada stands at 110 metres (360 ft) with 27 floors. Completed in 1962, it houses the headquarters forHydro-Québecas well the Montreal offices of thePremier of Quebec.[1]The building was designed byGaston Gagnier.[2]
The building is located onRené-Lévesque Boulevard,named for former premierRené Lévesque,who had nationalized Quebec'shydroelectriccompanies in 1963 while serving as Minister of Hydroelectric Resources and Public Works in the government ofJean Lesage.[3]Abustof Lévesque was unveiled in front of the building on August 24, 2001.[4]
