ISO 3166-2:CR

ISO 3166-2:CRis the entry forCosta RicainISO 3166-2,part of theISO 3166standardpublished by theInternational Organization for Standardization(ISO), which definescodesfor the names of the principalsubdivisions(e.g.,provincesorstates) of allcountriescoded inISO 3166-1.

Currently for Costa Rica, ISO 3166-2 codes are defined for7 provinces.

Each code consists of two parts, separated by a hyphen. The first part isCR,theISO 3166-1 Alpha -2code of Costa Rica. The second part is one or two letters.
