Jean-Yves Le Gallou(born 4 October 1948) is a French politician. He served as amember of the European Parliamentfrom 1994 until 1999, representing theNational Front.Since 2022, he has been a member ofReconquête.

Career

Le Gallou began his political career as a member of theRepublican Party.In 1974 he joinedYvan Blotin setting up theClub de l'Horloge.As the club developed links withGRECELe Gallou grew in importance, serving as a bridge between theNouvelle Droiteand mainstream right-wing politics.[1]

Le Gallou grew close to theNational Frontand helped to develop theirpréférence nationalepolicy of the 1980s, which called for welfare, health, education and job provisions to be given toFrench citizensof autochthonous origins first.[2]He soon joined the party and rose in influence, joining Blot andBruno Mégret,in developing the party'sneo-liberaleconomic policy.[3]He was one of the 11 FN members elected to theEuropean Parliamentin the1994 election.Meanwhile, Le Gallou became a close associate of Bruno Mégret and followed him into theNational Republican Movement.[4]

In June 2014, Le Gallou,Bernard LuganandPhilippe Conradco-founded the racialist think tankfr:Institut Iliade,which describes itself "in the continuity ofDominique Venner's thought and action ". The organization held a colloquium withRenaud Camus,Charlotte d'OrnellasandJean Raspailin April 2016.[5]

In 2022 he joinedReconquête.[6]

Private life

In his spare time Le Gallou is a keenmountaineerand has completed a number of traditional races in theAlps.[7]He participates inpaganceremonies, notably at thesummer solstice.[8]
