Ioannis Malachias(Greek:Ιωάννης Μαλαχίας;also spelledMalahiasand often referred to asDr Malachias) was born in Xylosyrtis,Ikaria,in 1880 and died inAgios Kirykos,Ikaria, in 1958. He was aGreekdoctor fromIkariaand was the leader of theIkarian Revolutionagainst theOttoman Empirein 1912, serving as the first and only president of theFree State of Ikariabetween 17 July and 4 November 1912.[1][2][3]
