Ion Popais a historian who studies the role of Christian churches in the Holocaust. He received his doctorate fromManchester Universityin 2014. His bookThe Romanian Orthodox Church and the Holocaustreceived the 2018Yad Vashem International Book Prize for Holocaust Research.[1][2]From 2012 to 2013, he held a Ausnit Fellowship at theUnited States Holocaust Memorial Museum.[3]
