Jay Kogenis an Americancomedywriter,producer, actor and director.
Biography
[edit]He was born to aJewishfamily.[1]His father is comedy writerArnie Kogen.In 2001, Kogen had a son, Charlie, who is now a musician.[2]
Career
[edit]Kogen co-wrote several episodes ofThe Tracey Ullman ShowandThe Simpsonsalong with former writing partnerWallace Wolodarsky.Since then, he has written for several shows, including anEmmy Awardwinning stint atFrasier,Everybody Loves Raymond,George Lopez,andMalcolm in the Middle.Kogen also made an appearance inThe Aristocrats.He was a consulting producer onThe Class,co-writer of theDave Foley/David Anthony Higgins1997 filmThe Wrong Guy,as well as being a former stand-up comedian.
In 2009, he started working on theNickelodeonTV seriesThe Troop.He is also the creator ofWendell & Vinnie.
In 2015, he became a writer & co-executive producer ofDan Schneider&Dana Olsen'slive-action sitcom,Henry Danger.
On April 15, 2019, Kogen joined other WGA writers in firing their agents as part of theWGA'sstand against theATAand the practice ofpackaging.[3]
On December 9, 2020, Kogen and Ali Schouten signed on to develop aniCarlyrevival series.[4]On February 25, 2021, it was reported that Kogen left the project due to "creative differences" with starMiranda Cosgrove.[5]
