Jand(alsoJend), was a medieval town on the right bank of the lowerJaxartes riverinTransoxianain modern-dayKazakhstan.It was the winter capital of theSeljuk Turksbefore their migration toKhurasan.It was later sacked by theMongols,and is now in ruins.
