John Almond(21 November 1915 – 1993) was an Englishfootballerwho played inthe Football LeagueforStoke CityandTranmere Rovers.[2][3]

Career

Almond joinedStoke CityfromPrescot Cablesin 1934. He played as a reserve, failing to dislodgeJoe Johnson– anEngland international– from theoutside leftposition.[2]His only goal for Stoke came on his league debut in a 2–1 defeat atWolverhampton Wanderersin April 1935.[2]

Almond joinedTranmere Roversin 1936 and finished his career withShrewsbury Townwhere he was a regular first-team player scoring goals consistently in theBirmingham & District Leaguefor two seasons.[2][3]
