John Joseph Ryan(17 June 1927 – 3 April 2014) was an IrishLabour Partypolitician fromNenagh,County Tipperary.He was an unsuccessful candidate at the1969 general election,but was elected toDáil Éireannat the1973 general electionas aTeachta Dála(TD) for theTipperary Northconstituency.[1]He was re-elected at each subsequent general election until he lost his seat at the1987 general election.
He was elected to theIndustrial and Commercial Panelof the 19thSeanadin 1989. At the1992 general electionhe re-gained his Dáil seat in Tipperary North. He retired at the1997 general election.[2]He served asLeas-Cheann Comhairle(deputy chairperson) of the Dáil from 1982 to 1987.[1]He died in 2014 at the age of 86.[3]
