Professional wrestling style, persona, and reception

"Unfortunately for the company, the same fans that rejected ReignsloveAmbrose.... Ambrose, as a physically smaller performer in a land where giants are preferred, is the truedark horse, both on camera and behind the scenes. "

CNETwriter Daniel Van Boom on Ambrose's popularity compared to main event star Roman Reigns[377]

Good was given the Jon Moxley ring name shortly before his first match by a fellow wrestler, who had misheard the name ofJames Van Der Beek's character Jonathan Moxon in the 1999 filmVarsity Blues.[378]He later said, "I'd probably been thinking about names for years and years, but I had no ideas.... So, right before I'm about to go out the ring announcer said, 'What's the name?' I didn't have one.... This other wrestler guy was just like, 'It's like theVarsity Bluesguy. He's like the guy fromVarsity Blues.Jonathan Moxley.' They're like, 'That's cool.' I was too nervous to say yes or no.... Actually, in the movie, it's Moxon. So the guy screwed up the name a little bit. It wasn't my idea at all, it was just foisted upon me. "[378]
