Jongmin Park(Korean:박종민,born 1986) is a South Korean opera singer who has sung leadingbassroles in the opera houses of Germany, Austria, and the United Kingdom. Born inSeoul,he was the winner of the Song Prize at the 2015BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition[1][2]Park also won First Prize (male singer) at the 2011Tchaikovsky Competitionand theBirgit Nilsson Prizefor the German Repertoire of Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner at the 2011Operalia Competition.[3]

Park studied singing at theKorea National University of Artsand then at the Accademia delTeatro alla Scalain Milan before becoming a member of theHamburg State Operafrom 2010 to 2013. He made hisRoyal Opera Housedebut in 2014 as Colline inLa bohèmeand sang at theVienna State Operain the 2013/2014 season where his roles included Zuniga inCarmen,Don Basilio inLe nozze di Figaro,and Colline.[4]
