Hawaii Media and airs aHawaiian oldiesformat.The studios are located inDowntown Honoluluand the transmitter is located nearMililani.KPHI is rebroadcast onFM translatorK244EO(96.7 FM) in Honolulu and on Spectrum (formerlyOceanic Time Warner Cable) digital channel 882 throughout the state ofHawaii.[2]

KPHI first signed on September 23, 2008, with anoriginal Pilipino music(OPM) format.[3]The station, which originally was supposed to have thecall lettersKRUD, replaced the multiculturalKORL,which signed off that same day in part due to the former having a more powerful signal.[4]

In early 2019, KPHI flipped to aHawaiian musicformat as "Shaka 96.7".[5][6]
