TheKaczawa(German:Katzbach), in EnglishKatzbach,is ariverin theLower Silesian VoivodeshipinPoland.It springs from theKaczawskie MountainsnearKaczorówand flows north and northeast through the towns ofŚwierzawa,ZłotoryjaandLegnica.Among its tributaries is theCzarna Woda.After a length of 98 km (61 mi) the Kaczawa empties into theOderriver atProchowice.
Between Legnica andDunino,the Kaczawa was the site of theBattle of the Katzbachon 26 August 1813 during theNapoleonic Wars.
