Kirsty-Leigh Porter(born 30 December 1988[1]) is an English actress, known for her roles in British soap operas, including portrayingZoe WillsononCoronation Street,Roz FieldingonEmmerdaleandLeela LomaxonHollyoaks.
Career
[edit]Porter attendedOldham Theatre Workshopand trained extensively in dance including ballet, jazz, contemporary and modern dance.[1]She has played a number of small roles on British television, includingDoctors,The Royal Today,ShamelessandAshes to Ashes.Porter went on to have larger roles in the children's television programmeMy Spy Family,as Marcy, andThe Streetas Ellie.
It was announced in July 2009 that Porter had been cast in the long-runningITVsoap operaCoronation Streetas the girlfriend of long established characterDavid Platt(Jack P. Shepherd).[2]After her role inCoronation Street,Porter was cast in another ITV soap,Emmerdale,as the best friend ofHolly Barton(Sophie Powles). Her role inEmmerdaleas Roz, includedpushingHolly into taking illegal drugs, and stealing to fuel her addiction. At the end of the storyline, it was announced that Porter would be leaving the soap.[3]On 26 June 2013, it was announced that Porter would be joining the cast ofHollyoaksand over a month later it was announced she would playLeela Lomax,one of established characterSte Hay's (Kieron Richardson) two half-sisters.[4]
In September 2023,Channel 4announced Porter as one of the contestants onCelebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.[5]
