Kurmademysis an extinct genus ofside-neckedturtlewhich existed inIndiaduring thelate Cretaceousperiod.[1]It was first named in 2001, byEugene S. Gaffney,Sankar Chatterjee,and Dhiraj K. Rudra, and contains the speciesKurmademys kallamedensis.[1]The species name is derived from theKallamedu Formationof southern India, where the type specimen of the genus was discovered.[1]It was assigned to the familyBothremydidae.[1]
