Law and Literature,formerlyCardozo Studies in Law and Literature,is a lawjournalof theCardozo Law Schoolfounded in 1988.[1]The managing editor is ProfessorPeter Goodrich.First published in 1989 as a biannual titledCardozo Studies in Law and Literature,[2]with its first issue devoted toHerman Melville'sBilly Budd, Sailor,[3]this journal shifted to a triannual format in 2002. First published by theBenjamin N. Cardozo School of Lawand then byTaylor & Francis,it is one of the few journals in the country entirely focused on the interdisciplinary movement known aslaw and literature.Issues inprivate lawandpublic law,restrictions on creative expression, gender andracial bias,hermeneutics(interpretive methodologies), and legal themes in works of literature are among the journal's regular topics.
