Linghai(Chinese:Lăng hải;pinyin:Línghǎi) is acounty-level cityin the west ofLiaoningprovince,Northeast China.It was calledJinxianorJin County(Chinese:Cẩm huyện) until 1993, when it was reorganized into acounty-level cityand renamed Linghai. With its urban core lying on the west (right) bank of theDaling River,which flows intoLiaodong Baynear the city, it is under the administration of theprefecture-level cityofJinzhou,the seat of which is 21 kilometres (13 mi) to the southwest.
