HMSThames Royal Navy World War II: TheRiver-classsubmarine went missing in the North Sea between 23 July and 3 August. She probably struck amineand sank in the North Sea offStavanger,Norway (57°20′N3°10′E/ 57.333°N 3.167°E/57.333; 3.167) with the loss of all 63 crew.[14]
