Liz Greenwas a British-Irish[1]broadcaster and journalist who worked forBBC Radio Leeds.

Green was born[2]and grew up inHuddersfield[3]and has British and Irish heritage.[1]

Career[edit]

Liz Green hosted a lunchtime radio programme for BBC Radio Leeds that included a feature known asThe Hot Seat,a weekly hour-long interview on Fridays at 12pm. Her radio work also featured an interview segment calledUp Closeis which was a-one-on-one interview with a member of the public from the region with an interesting life story. Notable interviewees on Liz Green's show include theDalai Lama,David CameronandNick Clegg.[citation needed]Green won the BBC'sLocal or Regional Broadcaster of the Year(Gold) in 1994.[4]

Prior to hosting weekday lunchtimes, Liz presented Breakfast onBBC Radio Leedsfor five years. The show won Bronze at theAudio and Radio Industry Awardsin 2017. The same year, she spoke of crime levels in Huddersfield.[2]
