Lloais a group ofAustronesianindigenous Formosan peopleliving in the southern plain ofTaiwanfromYunlin,Jiayi,to northernTainan.[1]They have lived through theDutch colonization of Taiwan,as well as the Manchurian occupation during the Qing dynasty.[2]
Lloa are generally classified together with theHoanyaandArikunas a single group, which idea has been rejected by some scholars and the indigenous people themselves.[2]
