History

The second of theE-Flexer-class ferries,the ship was constructed at the AVIC Weihai Shipyard in China. The ship was floated on 15 April 2019,[1]and delivered to Stena atWeihaion 15 January 2020.[2]

After conducting berthing trials atBelfast Harbourin February 2020,[3]the ship began its maiden commercial voyage on 9 March 2020, completing it the following day.[4][5]

Stena Eddais a replacement forStena Lagan.Stena Laganwas transferred to operate betweenNynäshamnandVentspilson theBaltic Sea,following a rebuild and renaming asStena Scandica.[6]
