Marco Pontecorvo(born November 8, 1966, Rome) is an Italian cinematographer and film director.

Marco Pontecorvo was initially interested in black and white photography, but eventually became a filmmaker like his fatherGillo.He debuted as director of photography onIn sailing in the wrong direction(1997). Some of his best known works areRome,The Last Legion,Letters to JulietandGame of Thrones.

He has also directed films. His first filmPa-ra-dareceived several award nominations, includingthe Silver Ribbonfor the best debutant director and theDavid di Donatellofor Best Debut Director, and won the Pasinetti Award at the 65thVenice International Film Festival[1]and theFrancis LaudadioAwardfor Best First Feature at theBari International Film Festival.
