Mark Farr(born 1968) is an Irish formerGaelic footballer.At club level, he played withDohenys,divisional sideCarbery,and at inter-county level, with variousCorkteams.
Career
[edit]Farr first playedGaelic footballat juvenile and underage levels with theDohenysclub inDunmanway.He was just 16-years-old when he made his adult debut for the club's third team in 1984. Farr later won back-to-backWest Cork JAFC,before claiming aCork JAFCmedal after a defeat ofCarrigtwohillin 1993. His performances for the club resulted in a call-up to theCarberydivisional team. Farr later added aCork IFCmedal to his collection in 1995.[1]
At inter-county level, Farr first appeared forCorkas a member of the minor team that lost the1986 All-Ireland minor finaltoGalway.[2]He later won aMunster U21FCas a member of the extended panel in 1989. By that stage, Farr had already joined the junior team and won the first of fourMunster JFCmedals in 1988. He claimed back-to-backAll-Ireland JFCmedals as a substitute in 1989 and on the field of play in 1990.[3]
After impressing for the junior team, Farr joined theCork senior football teamin 1993.[4]He won the first of threeMunster SFCmedals that season and was an unused substitute when Cork were beaten byDerryin the1993 All-Ireland final.[5][6][7]Farr was also selected forMunster'sRailway Cupteam during this period.[8]He made his last appearance for Cork as an unused substitute in a defeat byClarein 1997.
