Mark Mangini(born 1956) is an Americansound editorwith over 125 film credits. He has won twoAcademy Awards,in 2021 forBest SoundforDuneand in 2015 forBest Sound Editingalong withDavid Whitefor their work onMad Max: Fury Road.[1]

Mangini is renowned for recording and editing a new roar track forLeo the Lion,theMetro-Goldwyn-Mayer(MGM) lion mascot (ironically, tiger sounds were used for the effect).[2]

In April 2017, Mangini partnered withPro Sound Effectsto releaseThe Odyssey Collection,developed from his personal sound library built throughout his career with partnerRichard L. Anderson.[3][4]

Mangini is of Italian descent.[5]He married actressAnnette McCarthyin 1984 and they have two sons. They separated some time later.[6][7][8]He also has a son,Rio,from his marriage to Ann Whatu.
