Mark Sundeen

Mark Sundeen(born 1970) is an American author. His bookCar Campingwas published byHarperCollinsin 2000. His bookThe Making of Torowas published bySimon & Schusterin 2003.North by Northwestern: A Seafaring Family on Deadly Alaskan Waters(ISBN978-0312591144) was released in early 2010. His nonfiction articles have appeared in TheNew York Times Magazine,The Believer,Outside MagazineandMcSweeney's.His bookThe Man Who Quit Money(2012)[1]tells the story ofSuelo,currently living part-time in a cave near Moab, Utah when he is not wandering the country, who has practiced his form ofsimple livingsince 2000.

Sundeen was born inHarbor City,California, in 1970[2]and grew up in the Los Angeles suburbs ofManhattan BeachandHermosa Beach.[3]He graduated fromStanford Universityin 1992 with a degree in English and later moved toMoab,Utah.[3]He later earned a master's degree in creative writing from theUniversity of Southern California.[4]In 2004, Sundeen worked as a blogger forHoward Dean's presidential campaign.[5]Currently living in Montana and Utah, Sundeen instructsOutward Boundprograms and teaches college-level creative writing courses in addition to writing his books.[2]
