Mary Moran(néeMalone;born 28 June 1960) is an Irish formerLabour Partypolitician who served as aSenatorfrom 2011 to 2016, after beingnominated by the Taoiseach.[1]
Moran is fromDundalk,County Louth.She was educated at St. Vincent's Secondary School, Dundalk andUniversity College Dublin.[2]
She unsuccessfully contested theLouth constituencyat the2011 general election.In April 2011, she was a Labour Party candidate for the 2011Seanad Éireannelection on theAdministrative Panelbut was not elected.[3]In May 2011, she wasnominated by the TaoiseachEnda Kennyto the24th Seanad.[4]
She is a former secondary school teacher.[2]Her sister is formerMEPEmer Costello.[5]
She was the Labour Party Seanad Spokesperson on Education, Disability, Equality and Mental Health.[citation needed]
