Matnah(Arabic:مَتْنَة) is a small village inBani Matar DistrictofSanaa Governorate,Yemen.[1][2]Located to the southeast ofJabal An-Nabi Shu'ayb,it serves as a stopping place on the road betweenSanaaandAl-Hudaydah.[2]
History
[edit]The earliest known mention of Matnah in historical sources is in 1275 (674 AH).[2]It had areservoir,mentioned in theGhayat al-Amaniof Yahya ibn Al-Husayn, as well as in a manuscript by Muhammad ibn Salah al-Sharafi.[2]
