Early career

Montes played forSegunda División PeruanateamC.D. Bella Esperanzain the2001 season.[1]He scored 4 goals and his club finished in third that season.[1]

Juan Aurich

On July 27, 2010, it was announced that Montes rescinded his contract with Cienciano due to unpaid wages and signed forClub Juan Aurich.[2]It was reported that he also received a contract offer from his previous clubAlianza Lima,but he preferred the one offered by Juan Aurich.[3]He joined theChiclayobased club along withNelinho Quinafor the second part of the2010 season. On September 18, 2010, he made his debut for Juan Aurich as a starter in a league match againstLeón de Huánuco,which ended in a 1-1 draw.[4] In the2011 seasonMontes scored a hat-trick in an away league match againstSport Boys,which finished 5-0 in favor of Juan Aurich.
