Max Schoen(February 11, 1888 – May 27, 1959) was an American music educator, psychologist and scholar.
Life
[edit]Max Schoen was born in theAustro-Hungarian Empireon February 11, 1888.[1]He came to the United States in 1900, and was naturalized as a US citizen in 1918. He gained his BA from theCity College of New Yorkin 1911 and aPhDfrom theUniversity of Iowain 1921. He taught atCarnegie Institute of Technologyfrom 1922 until 1947, retiring as Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology and Education. After retirement he held visiting lectureships atCoe College,Iowa andFisk UniversityinNashville.[2]
He died inPittsburghon May 27, 1959.[1]
