Min opera(simplified Chinese:Mân kịch;traditional Chinese:Mân kịch;pinyin:Mǐnjù;Foochow Romanized:Mìng-kiŏk), also calledFuzhou drama(Chinese:Kịch Phúc Châu;pinyin:Fúzhōuxì;Pe̍h-ōe-jī:Hok-chiu-hì;Foochow Romanized: Hók-ciŭ-hié), is one of the major traditionaloperaforms inFu gian Province.It enjoys a good popularity inFuzhou,Middle Fu gian, East Fu gian and North Fu gian whereFuzhou dialectis spoken, as well as inTaiwanandIndonesia,Malaysia,SingaporeandBrunei.Having been evolving for 300 years, Min opera became fixed in the early 20th century.

A variety of Min opera called Beilu opera (also calledLuantan), is popular in theEastern Minregion ofShouning County,nearZhe gian g.[1]
