Monghpyak[1](alsoMong Hpyak,Mongphyat,Maingbyat,Meng-pen-ma;Mongis equivalent toMueang) is a town inKengtung District(formerly part ofMong Hpayak District) ofEastern Shan StateofMyanmar.It is the principal town of and administrative center forMong Hpayak Township.The town is located on theTachilek–Kengtungpaved road.[2]As of 2005[update],a paved road was under construction from Mong Hpayak east toMong Yawng.[2]
