NGC 1160is aspiral galaxyapproximately116 millionlight-yearsaway from Earth in theconstellationofPerseus.[3]It was discovered, along withNGC 1161,by English astronomerWilliam Herschelon October 7, 1784.[4]

NGC 1160 forms a visual pair with the galaxyNGC 1161.Both galaxies are located between the Local andPerseussuperclusters.[5]
