NGC 2500is abarred spiral galaxyin the constellationLynxwhich was discovered byWilliam Herschelin 1788. Much like thelocal groupin which our ownMilky Waygalaxy is situated, NGC 2500 is part of theNGC 2841 groupof galaxies which also includesNGC 2541,NGC 2537andNGC 2552.It has a H II nucleus[3]and exhibits a weak inner ring structure.
