NGC 5886[3]is an +14 magnitudeelliptical galaxyin the constellationBoötes.It was originally discovered byJohn Herschelon 13 May 1828[5]with an 18.7 inches (470 mm)reflector.

Onesupernovahas been observed in NGC 5886: SN2020nln (typeIa,mag. 18.1).[6]
