While working onFrank,Nugent told Abrahamson he would be interested in editingRoombased on having read the novel of thesame name.[1]Nugent also served as second-unit director.[3]He described his editing ofRoomas simplistic, keeping the acting intact, while working inDublinfor five months.[1]However, child actorJacob Tremblay's part was filmed in numerous takes so Tremblay could give variations of his performances of specific lines, so Abrahamson and Nugent had to assemble and splice the different takes in the editing process.[3]

ForRoom,a Canadian co-production, Nugent won theCanadian Screen Award for Best Editingin March 2016.[4]In April, he won theIrish Film & Television Awardfor Best Editing.[5]
