Noah Pallas(born 9 February 2001) is aFinnishprofessionalfootball playerwho plays as aleft backforVeikkausliigaclubHJKand theFinland national team.
Early career
[edit]Pallas was born inHelsinki.In his early playing career, he played for the youth sectors ofFC HonkainEspooandKäpylän Pallo(KäPa) inHelsinki.[2]
Club career
[edit]Pallas made his senior debut with KäPa first team in the third tier levelKakkonen,on 4 May 2019 againstPallo-Iirot.[3]He played one season with KäPa in Kakkonen before moving back to FC Honka organisation to their reserve teamHonka IIin 2020.
AC Oulu
[edit]After playing in Kakkonen for three seasons, with Käpylän Pallo and Honka II respectively, Pallas accepted an offer from theVeikkausliigasideAC Oulu.He signed a professional contract with the club on a two-year deal starting in January 2022, on a free transfer.[4]
Pallas made his Veikkausliiga debut on 24 April 2022 after being named in the starting line-up in away game againstIFK Mariehamn,playing full 90 minutes.[5]He quickly made a breakthrough and established his place in the starting line-up in the league, becoming an integral part of the team.[6][7]Pallas scored his first Veikkausliiga goal on 11 September 2022, in a 6–1 away win againstHIFK[8]
In the2023season, Pallas played more minutes than any other player in the team. After the season, it was announced that Pallas will depart from AC Oulu.[9]
HJK Helsinki
[edit]On 20 November 2023, it was reported in Finnish media that Pallas had signed a contract withHJK,on a multiple-year deal.[10][11]On 18 December 2023, HJK confirmed the signing of Pallas on a three-year deal, starting in January 2024.[12][13][14]He debuted with his new club on 26 January 2024, in aFinnish League Cupwin againstIFK Mariehamn,playing full 90 minutes.[15]On 19 June 2024, Pallas scored his first goal for HJK in Veikkausliiga, a winning goal in a 3–1 home win againstKuopion Palloseura(KuPS).[16]
International career
[edit]Pallas didn't make any appearance for Finland at any youth international levels.[17]
He received his first call up to theFinland senior national teamon 4 Jan 2023, for two friendly matches againstSwedenandEstonia,as a replacement forTuomas Ollila.[18]
Pallas made his international debut on 12 Jan 2023 against Estonia.[19]He made his competitive national team debut on 19 June 2023 in a 6–0UEFA Euro 2024 qualifyingwin againstSan Marino,playing the second half as the 46th minute substitute toJere Uronen.[20][21][22]On 17 November 2023, Pallas made his second appearance in the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers, as a 83rd minute substitute toNikolai Alho,in a 4–0 home win againstNorthern Ireland.[23]
Personal life
[edit]His twin brotherEmil Pallasis also a professional football player, playing for newly promotedVeikkausliigasideEkenäs IF.[24]Their father Ben Pallas is a former footballer, who played, inter alia, in 83 games forHIFKin 1990s.[25][26]Pallas speaks Swedish as his mother tongue.[27]
