Nolan Siegel(born November 8, 2004) is an American racing driver.[1]He currently competes full-time in theIndyCar SerieswithArrow McLaren.In 2024, Siegel won the24 Hours of Le MansLMP2 class on his first attempt, withUnited Autosports.[2]Siegel previously competed in theU.S. F2000 National ChampionshipwithDEForce RacingandIndy NXTwithHMD Motorsports.[3]

Early career

Formula 4 United States Championship

Siegel would join the final round of the2019 Formula 4 United States Championshipheld atCircuit of the Americasdriving forJay Howard Driver Development.[4]He finished in the top-10 in both races.

Siegel would return to the championship for the first two rounds of the2020 seasononce again driving forJay Howard Driver Development.[5]He would have a best finish of sixth in his final race.

USF2000 Championship

On February 13, 2019, it was announced Siegel would compete full-time in the2019 U.S. F2000 National ChampionshipforNewman Wachs Racing.[6]He would finish 15th in the championship.

Siegel returned to the championship in 2020 and switched teams to drive forJay Howard Driver Development.[7]He took two podiums atMid-Ohioand finished 13th in the standings.

In January 2021, it was announced Siegel would return for a third season in 2021 driving forDEForce Racing.[8]He would get his first win in the third race held atNew Jersey Motorsports Park.He would finish the season 8th in the standings.

Indy Pro 2000

During 2021, Siegel would make hisIndy Pro 2000debut atGateway Motorsports Parkdriving forDEForce Racing.[9]He would impress by finishing 5th.

DEForce Racingannounced Siegel would move up to the series full-time in 2022.[10]At the first round held atSt. Petersburg,he would take his maiden win by beating competitorLouis Fosteron a late restart.[11]Siegel would dominate the second race held at Barber Motorsports Park starting from pole and leading the race from start to finish.[12]Ultimately, he would end up finishing 4th in the championship due to inconsistency during the middle and latter stages of the season.

Indy NXT

On September 8, 2022, it was announced Siegel would make hisIndy Lightsdebut at final round held atLaguna Secadriving forHMD MotorsportswithDale Coyne Racing.[13]

Siegel announced in October 2022 he would make the jump up toIndy NXTfull-time for 2023, remaining atHMD MotorsportswithDale Coyne Racing.[14]He would finish the season third in points, having won two races and scored a total of five podiums. With this, he also became the season's top rookie.

For the2024 season,Siegel and HMD reunited for a title assault. At the opening round inSt. Petersburg,the Californian scored pole and started out his season with a lights-to-flag victory.[15]

Sportscar racing career

In 2023, the American took part in theLMP2class of theAsian Le Mans Series,driving forInter Europol Competition.[16]PartneringCharles CrewsandChristian Bogle,Siegel managed to impress, leading his team to victory atDubaiby passingCharlie Eastwoodin the final stint, though two retirements in the four-round season meant a lowly fifth place in the standings.[17]He competed in various other sportscar races throughout the year, notably winning two LMP2 class races in theIMSA SportsCar Championship.[18]

For 2024, Siegel would make his debut at the24 Hours of Le Mans,pairing up withOliver JarvisandBijoy GargatUnited Autosports.[19]

IndyCar

Part-time commitments (2024)

On March 5, 2024, it was announced Siegel would compete part-time in the No. 18 Honda entry forDale Coyne Racing,sharing his seat withJack Harvey.Siegel would partake in the four events which do not clash with his Indy NXT commitments, including theIndianapolis 500.[20]

On June 7, 2024, it was announced that Siegel would substitute forAgustín Canapinoat the upcomingrace at Road Americafollowingabuse on social mediadirected atThéo Pourchaireafter the two made contact during theDetroit Grand Prixa week prior, with Canapino having taken a "leave of absence".[21][22]

Arrow McLaren (2024–)

On June 18, 2024, it was announced that Pourchaire had been dropped by theArrow McLarenteam, with the team signing Siegel in his place.[23]Siegel made his debut with the team at theMonterey Grand Prix,where he struggled throughout the weekend, running in 26th at one point after spinning into the gravel; he took advantage of numerous driver errors to finish in twelfth.[24]
