Nordenskiöld Landis the land area betweenIsfjordenandVan MijenfjordenonSpitsbergen,Svalbard.[1]The area is named after Finnish-Swedish explorer and geologistNils Adolf Erik Nordenskiöld.[2]The coastal region of Nordenskiöld Land (Nordenskiøldkysten) has been identified as anImportant Bird Area(IBA) byBirdLife Internationalbecause it supports breeding populations ofbarnacle geeseandcommon eiders.[3]
