Normand Corbeil(April 6, 1956 – January 25, 2013) was a Canadian composer known for his work on films, video games and television.

Biography[edit]

Corbeil won aBAFTA Games Awardand anInteractive Achievement Awardfor composing thesoundtrackfor the 2010PlayStation 3video game,Heavy Rain.[1][2]He also composed for the 2005 game,Fahrenheit,also known asIndigo Prophecy.The gameBeyond: Two Soulsis the last soundtrack that Corbeil composed, but he was unable to finish it before his death. For that reason, the game is dedicated to him.[2][3]

Corbeil composed music for television and film. His credits included the filmsDouble Jeopardyin 1999,Extreme Opsin 2002, andThe Statementin 2003, as well as the short filmKara.[1][2]His television work included the 2009ABCtelevision series,V.[1]He received twoEmmy Awardnominations for his compositions.[1]

Death[edit]

Corbeil, who was diagnosed withpancreatic cancerin August 2012, died on January 25, 2013, at the age of 56.[1][2]
