Oghiis atehsilinMansehra District,in theKhyber Pakhtunkhwaprovince of Pakistan. Its territory largely coincides with theAgror Valley,and its headquarters is the town ofOghi. Oghi Tehsil in Mansehra District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, was established in 1986. Prior to that, this area was part of Mansehra Tehsil. A decision was made by the government to reorganize tehsils and create new administrative units, and as a result, Oghi Tehsil was formed in this manner.
There tehsils is made up of the followingunion councils:Oghi,Belian,Dilbori,Kathai,Karori,Shamdhara,Shergarh,andShungli Bandi.[2] In August 2017, the three union councils ofDarband,Nika PaniandShanayawere separated into the new tehsil ofDarband.[3]
Population[edit]
The major social groups are the Tanoli, (Pashton Tribe)Sawati,Syed(Jalali),PathansmostlyYousafzai - Azizwanismigrated adjacentTor Ghararea andGujjars.The predominant language isPashto,spoken by about three quarters of the population, but there is a large group ofHindkospeakers and a smaller number of speakers ofGojri.The main economics activities are agriculture, forestry and livestock production.[2]
Most of the area is arid or rain-fed. About 25% of the people are involved in the agricultural sector. Timber is the main source of fuel.[citation needed]
Tanawal Area[edit]
On the southwestern side is the Tanawal valley. New Darband Township andShergarhare the main town and village of the Tehsil, respectively.Tanolisare the main caste of this area.
