TheOmaha Sunwas a weeklynewspaperthat published from December 27, 1951, to August 31, 1983.[1]It was formerly owned byBerkshire Hathaway,a company headed by investorWarren Buffett.[2]

The staff of The Sun Newspapers ofOmaha, Nebraska,was awarded aPulitzer Prize for Local Investigative Specialized Reportingin 1973 for uncovering the large financial resources ofBoys Town,aCatholicyouth care center and charity, leading to reforms in the organization's solicitation and use of funds contributed by the public.[2][3]

Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway bought the newspapers in 1968. The company sold them in 1980 toHyde Park Heraldpublisher Bruce Sagan. TheSunnewspapers stopped publishing in 1983.[1]
