TheOmbrone(Latin:Umbro) is a 160-kilometre (99 mi) long river inTuscany,central Italy.

The Ombrone's source is atSan Gusmè,nearCastelnuovo Berardenga,on the south-eastern side of theMonti del Chianti.After a twisting route, it receives the waters of the tributariesArbia,MerseandOrciabefore reaching the plain nearIstia d'Ombrone.[1]

It subsequently passes near the city ofGrosseto,before flowing into theTyrrhenian Sea.
