Osp(pronounced[ˈoːsp];Italian:Ospo) is avillagein theCity Municipality of Koperin theLittoralregion ofSlovenia.[2]

Overview

The Osp Valley is a passage through thekarstand coastal region ofIstria.It extends from below the village ofČrni Kalto the sea. The valley was shaped by theOspRiver. Osp is also one of the oldest villages inSlovenia,first mentioned in 1067. It was the first villages on the Istrian peninsula to have a Slovene school. The village is well known for its rock walls, which offerfree climbingall year long.

The village is aborder crossingintoItaly,with the village of Crociata (Križpot), Caresana (Mačkolje), in thecomune(municipality) ofSan Dorligo della Valle(Dolina).

Theparish churchin the settlement is dedicated toSaint Peter.[3]
