Oudenodonis an extinctgenusofdicynodont.It was common throughout southernAfricaduring the LatePermian.Several species ofOudenodonare known.[2]BothO. bainii,thetype species,andO. grandisare known fromSouth Africa.[3][4]Specimens ofO. luangwensishave been found fromZambia.[5]One species,O. sakamenensis,is the only Permiantherapsidyet described fromMadagascar.[6]It is thetype genusof thefamilyOudenodontidae,which includes members such asTropidostoma.
