ThePNS Iqbal(also known asNaval Base Iqbal) is thenaval basethat serves as the training and operating headquarters of theNavy Special Service Group,having been established in 1966 at theKarachi coastinSindhinPakistan.[1]: 280 [2]

Besides serving as the headquarter of theNavy Special Service Group,the PNS Iqbal is a submarine base for theCosmos-class submarine,and served as a submarine base since its establishment in 1968.[3]: 286 [4]: 78 [5]

In 1991, the PNS Iqbal served as the operation base for thePakistan Marineswhen the 1st Marines Battalion was established before the Marines were relocated atQasim Fortlocated in theQasim Marines Basein Karachi coast.: 584 [6]
