Paulo Jorge Velez Muacho(born 14 July 1990) is aPortugueselawyer, politician and member of theAssembly of the Republic,the nationallegislatureof Portugal. A member of theLIVREparty, he has representedSetúbalsince March 2024.

Early life

Muacho was born on 14 July 1990 inCampo Maior.[1][2]He grew up inSeixalon the south bank of theTagus.[2][3]He has adegreein law.[1]He also has amaster's degreein law.[1]

Career

Muacho is apracticinglawyer.[2][4]

Muacho joinedLIVREin 2014 shortly after its formation and has been a part of the Contact Group, the party'sexecutive body,from 2015 to 2020 and since 2022.[2][4]He was a member ofLisbon City Councilfrom 2017 to 2021.[2][3]He is currently working as coordinator for the LIVRE group on Lisbon City Council.[2]At the2015 legislative electionMuacho was placed tenth on LIVRE'slistof candidates inSetúbalbut the party failed to win any seats in the constituency.[5]At the2019 legislative electionhe was placed fourth on LIVRE's list of candidates inLisbonbut the party only won a single seat in the constituency.[6]At the2022 legislative electionhe was placed first on LIVRE's list of candidates in Setúbal but the party failed to win any seats in the constituency.[7]He was elected to theAssembly of the Republicat the2024 legislative election.[8]
