Perimele
InGreek mythology,Perimele[pronunciation?]orPerimela[pronunciation?](Ancient Greek:Περιμήλη) is the name of three mythical personages:[1]
- Perimele, daughter ofAmythaon.She andAntion,son ofPeriphas,were the possible parents ofIxion.[2]
- Perimele, daughter ofAdmetusandAlcestis,mother ofMagnesbyArgus(son ofPhrixusandChalciope).[3][4]
- Perimele, daughter ofHippodamas,who was loved byAchelousand lay with him secretly. When her father discovered that, he pushed her off a cliff into the sea. Achelous kept her floating on the waves for a while, imploringPoseidonto help her. The sea god transformed her into an island which bore her name, one of theEchinades.[5]
