Phloeomys,theslender-tailed cloud rats,is agenusof largerodentsin the familyMuridae.Bothspeciesin this genus areendemicto the island ofLuzonin thePhilippines.Although their tail is covered by hairs, it is considerably less dense and shorter than in the rarerbushy-tailed cloud rats(genusCrateromys) that also inhabit the Philippines.[2]

Phloeomyscontains two species,[1]but thetaxonomiclimits between them are not fully resolved.[3]
