Music is played in public and private contexts, highlighted at events such asfestivalsand concerts for various different types of ensembles. Music is used in the production of other media, such as insoundtracksto films, TV shows, operas, and video games.
Listening to music is a common means ofentertainment.The culture surrounding music extends into areas ofacademic study,journalism,philosophy,psychology,andtherapy.Themusic industryincludes songwriters, performers,sound engineers,producers, tour organizers, distributors of instruments, accessories, and publishers ofsheet musicandrecordings.Technology facilitating therecording and reproduction of musichas historically includedsheet music,microphones,phonographs,andtape machines,with playback ofdigital musicsbeing a common use forMP3 players,CD players,andsmartphones.(Full article...)
