Pradhania(named after Dhuiya Pradhan, a fossil collector at theIndian Statistical Institute) is agenusofmassospondylidsauropodomorphdinosaurfrom theSinemurian-age (Early Jurassic)Upper Dharmaram FormationofIndia. It was first named byT. S. Kutty,Sankar Chatterjee,Peter M. GaltonandPaul Upchurchin2007and the type species isPradhania gracilis. It was a sauropodomorph of modest size, only about four meters (13 ft) long, and is known from fragmentary remains.[1]It was originally regarded as abasalsauropodomorph[1]but new cladistic analysis performed byNovaset al.,2011 suggests thatPradhaniais amassospondylid.[2]Pradhaniapresents twosynapomorphiesof Massospondylidae recovered in their phylogenetic analysis.[2]
